KB20 Tone Generator Functionality - Knowledge Base Article #20
TestPro Cable Certification and Network Service Assistant Certi-Lite Expert Tools menu provides functionality for Tone Generation.
Two different frequency tones at 500 Hz and 781 Hz are available.
Any brand of RF Inductive Tone Probe Receivers/Tracers can be used together with TestPro Tone Generator function to identify Cable connectivity to a specific Panel Port, identify a wire in a bundle, and in some cases locate cable routing hidden behind a wall or ceiling panel.
To activate, simply click Cable Certification from TestPro home screen, or Certi-Lite from Network Service Assistant home screen. Then click Expert Tools, click on Tone Generator then select your preferred tone.
The tones are generated on all 8 conductors to ensure good cable location function regardless of possible wire map issues.
