KB29 Using DB Manager in Wi-Fi test function to connect to hidden Wi-Fi Networks

To connect to a hidden Wi-Fi network, follow these steps. Note: The Edimax USB Wi-Fi adapter must be inserted into the USB slot on the right side of the TestPro or Network Service Assistant to enable Wi-Fi functionality.

  1. From the home screen select Network Test and Cloud, then select WiFi, then select Turn WiFi On.

  2. Select a known network (not the hidden network you wish to add) and connect with the appropriate credentials. Once connected, click the green bar where "Click for connection option" is indicated, uncheck the Auto Connect option if it is checked. Click the back button to return to the Available Networks, then click the Tools button (screwdriver and wrench icon).

  4. Enter the AP Name of the hidden AP, if there is a password, select WPA-PSK from the Security dropdown and enter the password. Once the credentials are entered, click the Save button, you will see the network added, select it then click the Connect button. Next, click the Back button and you will see your added network on the list of previously known networks in the Database Manager.

  5. Click back two times to return to the available networks list and you will connect to the AP you added. From here you can enter the Tools menu again and run any of the Network Tests and WiFi Signal Strength tool on the hidden network to which you are now connected. By default "Auto Connect" is enabled, this can be changed by clicking on the Connection Option, the network can also be forgotten if you do not wish to leave it in the Database after you are done.
