KB22 TestPro Single Ended Autotest function - Knowledge Base Article #22
TestPro Cable Certification Expert Tools menu provides functionality for Single Ended Autotest. This function is useful for testing Return Loss and NEXT Performance of Cable Drums.
Test Procedure:
- For Cable Drums, terminate far end of each of the Cable Pairs to 100 Ohms.
- Recommended minimum cable length for testing is 30m in order to get meaningful measurements of cable characteristics.
- Connect Permanent Link Adapter to TestPro.
- Choose appropriate Cat5e/6/6A PL limits.
- Run Single Ended Autotest.
- Verify NEXT & Return Loss performance of Cable under test.
This test is helpful to qualify Cable Drums before using them for Channel/PL installations.
